The BBC recently did the unthinkable: they took a cherished, nerdy property and rebranded it. And thus we have a very stylized, new logo for Doctor Who. And I personally love it.
It continues to separate the new series from the old. The low-budget campiness of the original series is replaced by this stylish, gleaming identity. The iconic TARDIS formed out of the Doctor's initials really bridges the gap between what has come before and what is yet to be.
Much like the Doctor himself goes through a physical transformation to change the story line and tone of the show, this transformation hints at the future as David Tennant comes to the end of his run as the venerable Time Lord.
